Abstract

This paper is on behavior management of persons with special needs in Cross River State. The paper discussed that managing challenging behavior in a classroom setting is a problem faced by many teachers. The purpose of this paper is to provide effective behavior management strategies for students with special needs. In addition, the review is designed to increase teachers’ perspective towards educating students with special needs. Throughout the paper, many academic and social strategies have been proven to be effective for students with special needs and were thoroughly explained and reviewed. There are a few strategies that are listed in the paper that can easily be implemented to enhance classroom behavior management. Also discussed in this paper are the risk factors specific to primary and schools it was concluded that it is imperative to note that teachers may have to field test a few strategies before finding a suitable fit for their unique students.
