Abstract

Indonesia as a developing country still faces difficulties in dealing with various health problems, one of which is diarrhea, with the highest prevalence of incidence in the age group of children. Children tend to be indifferent to changes in their own body condition. This is the reason why the role of sufficient knowledge and skills are related to maternal diarrhea management, to reduce the high rate of disability and mortality due to diarrhea. Objective in this research is to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and efforts to treat diarrhea in children in Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency. The Methods of this study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design on an accessible population of mothers from kindergarteners in Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency. Selected respondents were 100 people using the snowball sampling method. The Result are total of mothers with “good” level of knowledge regarding diarrhea are (72%), and mothers with “sufficient” level are (28%). In terms of the level of diarrhea management, as much as (89%) are in the “good” category, and as much as (11%) are in the “lacking” category. The result of the data analysis test with the Fisher Exact Test shows the significance value of p = 0.631. So, the Conclusion of this research is There is no significant relationship between maternal knowledge of diarrhea management in kindergarteners in Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency.
