Abstract

The behavior of spray plays a key part in internal combustion engines, specially a direct injection type. In these engines, swirling jets or wall effects are generally used to enhance rapid mixing between fuel sprays and surrounding air. These features are dependent on the devices such as shape of combustion chambers. The final goal of this study is to develop mixing-control method using two injection nozzles for any equipment. In this paper, we numerically investigate vortex dynamics of two colliding jets located in the counter direction.
