Abstract
RESUMEN: En febrero de 2004 Adrian Bowyer, de la Universidad de Bath, comenzo una iniciativa abierta llamada RepRap con el proposito de crear una maquina de prototipado rapido de codigo abierto que, ademas, pudiera replicarse a si misma. En este documento vamos a analizar el estado actual de la iniciativa RepRap y las posibilidades tecnicas que abre esta tecnologia desde el punto de vista de la ingenieria, proponiendo tambien una evolucion innovadora para la misma que le dara total autosuficiencia.
