Abstract

Supplementary health care in Brazil is highly relevant, given the strong dependence of a considerable portion of the population on companies of this sector. Health care providers operate in a highly competitive and heavily regulated sector, which encourages them to seek high levels of care and administrative efficiency and to carefully manage costs. Therefore, they have adopted data analytics tools to provide better information management conditions and support decision making. In this context, maturity in the use of these tools is important, as they can show more or less in-depth uses, with different levels of benefits achieved. The aim of this research is to assess the maturity level in the use of data analytics by a large healthcare provider in Fortaleza. To this end, electronic questionnaires were applied to twelve managers of the IT area in the company, which provided a very broad view of the aspects studied. The questionnaires were made available by an online maturity assessment platform based on the Buitelaar Model (2018a). The platform itself provides the score by dimension and by agent researched, allowing the compilation of results and classification of the organization in the model. Therefore, this qualitative research is characterized as a single case study and has a descriptive approach. With this, it was possible to assess the maturity level of the referred company, as well as identify aspects related to the various dimensions that compose the maturity level.
