Abstract
Ultra reliable low latency communication (URLLC), which is a use case of 5G, requires high reliability, low latency, and high availability. Random nature of channel fading, interference, packet arrival, and queueing delay renders conventional single link communication prone to outage. Coordinated multi-point (CoMP) is a potential solution to achieve high reliability. Likewise, 5G new radio physical layer enablers can be leveraged for achieving low latency. This letter is proposing a novel availability maximization based resource allocation for URLLC by over-provisioning. Simulation results show that the proposed resource allocation scheme achieves the highest availability when compared to conventional schemes.
