Abstract
This paper presents the design of a meander line slot antenna. The designed antenna operates at the frequency range of 5.45 GHz to 5.7 GHz covering wireless local area network applications. The proposed antenna comprises a circular patch design with a meander slot embedded within the patch. Besides to meander line slot structure, asymmetric microstrip feed is provided to the antenna. To achieve better antenna performance, parametric studies are carried out. The antenna's total size is 15 × 14 × 1.57 mm3. For the designed antenna, the −10 dB impedance bandwidth is 4.48 %, the gain is 1.3 dBi with a radiation efficiency of 84.43 %. The current distribution and radiation pattern of the proposed meander slot antenna have been observed and simulated.
