Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effective coating time for ASTM A36 steel using chitosan in 1M HCl. In this study, ASTM A36 steel was used as a test specimen and the EPD technique was employed with coating time of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 minutes. The electrochemical technique was conducted using Autolab PGSTAT128N. In addition, this study also employed potentiodynamic polarization and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). It was found that longer chitosan coating using EPD will produce better coating results.
