Abstract
A 16-year dataset containing 95846511 physician-assigned International Classification of Disease (ICD) diagnoses and billing costs (54% female) for 768460 unique individuals (64% female) was employed to develop three groups: Group 1 - Those without psychiatric disorders; Group 2 - Those without substance disorders but having other psychiatric diagnoses; Group 3 - Those with substance disorders. Associated ambulatory and inpatient/emergency admissions were also examined for each group.
