Abstract
Background: Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) may prematurely impact the hormonal system by affecting its programming during growth and neurocognitive development. The aim of this study to evaluate thyroid function in preterm and term small for gestational age (SGA), and appropriate for gestational age (AGA) babies, and also in symmetrical and asymmetrical IUGR pattern.
