Abstract

The structural health monitoring aims to diagnosis the state of materials, components, and life of the any structures. It also provides a useful tool for ensure the structural safety and integrity. To examine the structural performance of the reinforced concrete building, the present study applied Fuzzy-DEMATEL model to examine the structural crack in the building. Decision making of multicriteria problems can be solved by DEMATAL using Single valued neutrosophic sets in the civil engineering field for subcontractor’s selection, traffic management, structural monitoring of the building etc. This paper illustrates the application of proposed method to investigate the structural health monitoring of the reinforced concrete building. The expert groups were involved to provide opinions and linguistic judgment regarding degree of significant between the criteria of the structural monitoring of the building. The model also suggests that “Quality” and “Maintenance” are the most influencing criteria to know the life of the structure. Based on degree of significant, the computational results successfully segregate twenty-two criteria into four types, during which 2 to 3 criteria are grouped under each type. Thus, the proposed DEMATEL model would be very much useful to know the real time performance of the structures.
