Abstract

This project paper was conducted to assess the medical residents’ job performance among nursing staff in Madonna and Child Hospital. Residents are evaluated through “work ethics, communication skills, leadership, and management skills” in the hospital. It aims to provide a reasonable and stable view of the medical residents’ behavior and abilities in the workplace. This study was conducted at Madonna and Child Hospital. Likewise, it utilizes the “Situational Leadership Theory and The Vroom-Yetton Contingency Model”. Questionnaire-checklist and personal data sheet is the main instrument used in the gathering of data for this research. This study utilizes the descriptive - correlational method of research to ascertain the accomplishment of the objective of the investigation. The aggregate of sixty nurses contributed to the study allotted in the hospital in various areas. In light of the outcomes of the study, participants ranging in ages 21-30 years mostly are female, single, one year in service, and mostly are staff nurses. Concerning work ethic, neither do nor act of dishonesty. For the communication skills, empathy using appropriate and understandable language comes highest. There is no substantial relationship between the medical residents’ job performance to the nurse-participants demographic profile. Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted.
