Abstract

There have been a number of studies conducted to determine the effect of incorporating Augmented Reality (AR) technology into real time scenario. As per research studies, when students engaged themselves in activity based learning then AR helps to improve their perceptions as well as their overall cognitive abilities. On the other hand, due to lack of professional coding skills, sometimes it is difficult for the teachers to incorporate AR-based activities in their course. In this study, teaching intervention through mobile augmented reality (MAR) is proposed that is simple to use and can assist teachers in the creation and design of augmented reality materials, such as combinational circuits. A unique feature of this mobile system is that it allows teachers to merge the subject matter and animated videos in a way that promotes active participation of the students. Our proposed system was put through a quasi-experimental evaluation to see if it could support a variety of teaching activities. Teacher response through a survey questionnaire was positive, and they were eager to adopt and use MAR system in their classrooms. Educators also agreed that our strategy was an effective way to boost the quality of outdoor educational activities.
