Abstract
Your ASLO Board met 04–05 June 2016, prior to the Summer Meeting in Santa Fe, to conduct business for the society. The Board heard reports from our journal editors and many of the ASLO committees and discussed our continued efforts to implement the many goals of our Strategic Plan. President James Elser reported on all the progress we have achieved during his term of office and highlighted future goals. Our journal Editors-in-Chiefs reported that the times to first decision and to publication continue to decrease. Our membership at the close of 2015 was 4267. Student renewal is most variable segment of the membership and is an area we hope to improve. Some issues that are still in progress include plans for ASLO website re-design and improved procedures for ASLO awards nominations. The ASLO Business meeting for members was held on Monday evening during the Santa Fe Aquatic Sciences meeting. Board members reported on the status of the membership and the society's finances and the Editors of the Bulletin and our journals reported on the status our publications. Pat Sorrano, editor of our newest journal, presented information on the scope and board of Associate Editors of L&O Letters. Lastly, the Board said farewell to outgoing members of the Board, Past-President John Downing, Members-at-large Susanne Menden-Deuer and Gillian Stewart, and thanked them for their excellent service for the Society. Respectfully submitted, Lisa Campbell, ASLO Secretary
