Abstract

The year 1993 saw the third season of archaeological research at Aphrodisias in Caria since the death of Kenan Erim. The New York University team undertook a regional survey, completed a new plan of the city, initiated a new program of site recording combined with limited excavation, pursued intensive documentation of the earlier finds, particularly the sculpture, began construction of a new conservation workshop, and carried out a major restoration and installation of the Zoilos frieze in the Aphrodisias Museum.
