Abstract
Objective To explore the application of PDCA cycle in improving teaching quality management in hospitals. Methods 49 internship students who did not receive the PDCA cycle from June 2017 to December 2017 were selected as the pre-implementation group, and 53 internship students who received the PDCA cycle from January 2018 to June 2018 were selected as the post-implementation group. In the post-implementation group, according to four stages of PDCA cycle, the problems existing in clinical teaching quality management in our hospital were analyzed with brainstorming method and fishbone diagram management tool, found out the key reasons, put forward improvement plans targeted on key reasons, formulated implementation plans, checked the implementation of project measures after improvement, and finally summarized the results of inspection. After the completion of the project, the number of problems found in teaching implementation processes, interns' scores, interns' satisfaction on clinical teachers were compared between the two groups. Results The number of problems found in teaching implementation processes of the pre-implementation group was significantly more than that of the post-implementation group(18.75% vs 8.85%), the scores of theory and operation of the post-implementation group were significantly higher than those of the pre-implementation group, the satisfaction degree on clinical teachers of the post-implementation group was significantly higher than that of the pre-implementation group(100.00% vs 91.84%), with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Using PDCA cycle method in hospital teaching quality management can improve teaching quality and improve students' satisfaction on clinical teachers.
