Abstract

Objective To explore the applied value of metformin in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods 80 patients with PCOS were randomly divided into the control group and observation group using digital form method,each group 40 cases.The control group were given the treatment of oral clomiphene citrate and injection of human chorionic gonadotropin.On the basis of control group,40 cases in the observation group took oral mefformin for 500mg/times,3 times/day.The clinical therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the menstrual cycle and the serum T content and LH/FSH of the two groups patients were significantly reduced(P < 0.05).The body mass index of patients in the observation group after treatment was significantly lower than that before treatment and after treatment in control group,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).The ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of observation group were 92.5%,65.0%,respectively,which were higher than those in the control group (57.5%,37.5%) (χ2 =4.74,5.18,all P < 0.05).The endometrial thickness in the observation group was(8.96 ± 0.68)nmn,which was significantly better than that in the control group [(6.74 ± 0.61) mm] (t =2.17,P < 0.05).Conclusion Mefformin can significantly improve ovulation and pregnancy rate,and it has good clinical application value.
