Abstract
Objective To investigate the feasibility of fast-track surgery in acute abdomen surgery.Methods A total of 160 patients with acute abdomen accepted operation were randomly divided into two groups.One group was treated with the new concept of fast track surgery and the other group was treated with the traditional methods of operation.The time of the first flatus and the defecation,the incidence of nausea,vomit,and complication,and the total cost during hospitalization were compared,respectively.Results Compared with control group,FTS group was associated with shorter postoperative hospital stay,less medical cost and intraoperative hemorrhage as well as earlier postoperative passage of flatus,and less rate of overall complications (P<0.05).There was no difference in operative duration between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The application of FTS in the patients with acute abdomen can accelerate recovery of gastrointestinal function,reduce the rate of complications and total cost during hospitalization,shorten postoperative hospital stay.
