Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of clinical pathway in the thrombolytic therapy of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods One hundred and forty-nine AMI patients in our hospital from January 2005 to December 2006,with matching control method were divided into control group (72 cases) and experimental group (77 cases). The regular emergency nursing process was used on the control group and the clinical nursing pathway was used on the experimental group. Door-to-needle time, success rate and major bleeding rate were observed before and after use of clinical nursing pathway. Results After use of clinical nursing pathway, door to needle time was reduced from 66 min to 23 min. Success rate of thrombolytic therapy increased from 44.4% to 62.3% (P all<0.05). Conclusions Clinical nursing pathway may improve nursing care quality for AMI, reduce the door-to-needle time and improve the labor efficiency and nursing quality. Key words: Clinical pathway; Acute myocardial infarction; Thrombolytic therapy
