Abstract
The article considers the relevance of the use of case technology as an active teaching method for assessing the competence of students. Trends, goals, structure, difference between traditional training, requirements, preparation of situational tasks and ways of assessment with case technology are also considered. Case technology determines the development of educational material by students, thus their activity increases, personal properties are formed, conditions for self-expression are improved. In case technology, a model of a specific situation is developed and at the same time students form practical knowledge and skills. Case technology expresses not only the assessment of students’ knowledge, but also the analysis of tasks of a specific situation, the application of specific solutions and their justification, the assessment of students’ logical thinking.
