Abstract

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of nursing risk management on hospitalized patients in department of respiratory medicine .Methods Nursing risk management was implemented from July 2012 in our department of respiratory medicine .A total of 64 patients before implementation were chosen as the control group, while 64 patients after implementation were chosen as the intervention group .Nursing quality and patients’ satisfaction were compared between two groups .Results After the implementation of nursing risk management, patients’ satisfaction on nursing increased from 87.5%to 96.9%, and there was no responsibility error or technical defect , and the differences were statistically significant (χ2 =3.12,4.15,5.27, respectively;P〈0.05).The score of basic nursing quality and critically ill patients ’ nursing quality was respectively(94.5 ± 8.5)and (92.6 ±9.4)after nursing risk management, higher than (83.8 ±7.9)and(82.3 ±6.7)before, and the differences were statistically significant (t=3.62,3.24, respectively; P〈0.05).Conclusions Nursing risk management in department of respiratory medicine can improve patients ’ satisfaction on nursing , reduce the occurrence of responsibility error and technical defect , as well as improve the professional level of nursing staff .
