Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of group cognitive behavior intervention on patients with depression. Methods A total of 160 patients with depression were recruited as study subjects from March 2014 to September 2014. They were randomly divided into control group (80 cases, routine medication treatment of depression + mental nursing) and research group (80 cases, routine medication treatment of depression + mental nursing + group cognitive behavior intervention with 1-2 times a week, 1.5-2 hours a time, 6 times) according to the table of random number. The effects were evaluated by researchers after the group cognitive behavior intervention. Results The scores of SDS between two groups after intervention were lower than those before (P<0.05). After intervention, the score of SDS in research group was lower than that in control with a significant difference (P<0.05). The scores of index of well being between two groups after intervention were higher than those before (P<0.05). After intervention, the score of index of well being in research group was higher than that in control with a significant difference (P<0.05). The degree of satisfaction in research group (96.25%) was higher than that in control group (88.75%) with a significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusions The application of group cognitive behavior therapy for group psychotherapy in patients with depression can improve the degree of depression, happiness and satisfaction with nursing. It is of significance for a quick recovery of patients and is worthy of clinical application. Key words: Depression; Group cognitive behavior therapy; Happiness
