Abstract

Abstract Sprays were applied to ‘Golden Delicious’ apple trees using a handgun with a pump pressure of 500 psi. All trees were sprayed to run-off, or an equivalent of ca 400 gal/acre. Single-tree plots were arranged in randomized block design and replicated 5 times. There were 3 applications, 3 Jun, 1 Jul, and on 2 Aug. The trees were irrigated via a drip system. Codling moth and San Jose Scale control was determined by examining 50 fruit/tree at harvest. Leafhopper populations were estimated 5 Jul by counting adults migrating from a branch hit with a piece of garden hose.
