Abstract

Introduction. The bacteria are growing inside the tissues of even uncomplicated intestinal anastomosis (IA). The study of the tissues transformation inside MA structure under the influence of purulent microorganisms is important for the planning of surgical tactic according to the intestinal connection creating method to use.The aim was to estimate the resistance to the effect of purulent microorganisms on to tissue substance of MA, created using the Electric Welding of Live Tissues (EWLT) technology.Material and methods. During the acute experiment on pigs, 18 EWLT IAs were created. The EWLT power source Patonmed-300 and the prototype of the circular electric welding tool were used. The substrate of the EWLT IA, as the intact intestinal wall were also immersed in a suspension, containing strains of the main constituents of the microflora isolated from soft tissues and abdominal cavity abscesses, in the appropriate concentration: St. aureus - 108, E.coli (3 strains) - 108. After 8 days of exposure, the tissues were removed for staining and morphological examination under a microscope.Results. The substrate of EWLT IA after immersion was not fragmented during extraction from the suspension, but was destroyed in the forceps at a compression of 0.3 N / mm2. The structure of the EMA is dense; at the edges it contains zones of loosening, cracks. Foreign bodies, microorganisms in the EMA substrate were not detected. The slightly colored, connected, coagulated modified smooth muscle fibers, compressed between collagen and elastic fibers, are contoured into a solid conglomerate. The submucosal muscular plate merges with the muscular membrane of the intestinal wall. Intact tissues outside the EWLT IA had signs of structural destruction.Conclusions. The tissue substance of the EWLT IA retains continuity and partial integrity inside purulent microorganisms environment up to 8 days. During this period tissues outside the EWLT IA undergo a complete decay. The predominant part of the IA substrate, which is formed in the intestinal tissues due to the connecting electric welding action, for 8 days remains resistant to lesion by microorganisms isolated from purulent foci.
