Abstract
The superlong single-crystalline CdS nanotubes have been prepared via a physical evaporation process. The effect of annealing process on the structural and photoluminescence (PL) characterizations are investigated, which plays important roles in the improvement of the crystalline quality and the optical property. A fully nanostructured photodetector with CdS NTs as active layer and Ag nanowires as electrodes have been fabricated and characterized. Compared with the performance of as-grown NTs-based photodetector, the annealed NTs-based device provides about 2–3 orders of magnitude decrease of dark current in air and about 30 times increase of photocurrent and decrease of the response time in vacuum, which are dependent on the high crystalline quality and defect-free property in annealed sample.
