Abstract

The case of berry production in the Los Altos Sur Region of the State of Jalisco, Mexico, is a sample of the alternatives of agricultural activity and the potential to contribute to the economy of the region, increasing in recent years; for this reason, the purpose of this project is to analyze the economic impact of the Berry production sector, describing the benefits of this activity to contribute to the development of the Altos Sur Region of the State of Jalisco; considering the benefits in general that the cultivation of red berries can bring in the region emphasizing, for example, the required investment, the return on investment, profit margin, weather conditions etc. and in this way expose the sustainability of the activity. From the above, he asks how the irruption of berries has changed agricultural activity, and what have been the benefits obtained? the results obtained show a favorable response to evidence an economic contribution, both for producers, for the region and potential growth. The methodology implemented was a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, starting in the first instance with a selection of data from both official sources and later knowing the opinion of producers in the region through interviews designed to collect information based on their opinion and experience.
