Abstract

Abstract In this article towing damage of the anchor to the submarine pipeline is mainly studied, the magnitude of the towing force by using ABAQUS software is calculated, and the strength of the submarine pipeline is checked on the basis of the drag force. It is found that the damage to the pipeline caused by the drag is destructive, and the pipeline may fail, which may cause danger. This paper summarizes the calculation method of towing anchor navigation distance, and puts forward the pipeline protection method of setting no anchor area. From the point of view that the energy of the anchor can be absorbed by the soil, it is proposed that the pipeline can be buried to a certain depth to prevent the towing damage of the anchor to the submarine pipeline. The reference data are presented through a specific example. The research results can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the future research on the damage of submarine pipelines caused by towing and the protection methods of pipelines.
