Abstract

Objective To summarize the rate of cesarean section and the change of indication of cesarean section, explore the reason of high rate of cesarean section, analyze the rationality of each indication of cesarean section, and find the measures of reducing the rate of cesarean section. Methods The clinical information of cases with cesarean section from 2003 to 2006 in our hospital was retrospectively analyzed. Results The rate of cesarean section increased year after year, with 14.9% in 2003 and 61.04% in 2006. They were obviously higher than the object advanced by WHO. Dystocia was the first indication of cesarean section in 2003, while the society factor was the first in recently two years. Conclusions The increase of the rate of cesarean section is mainly correlated with doctor and patients. So reducing the rate of cesarean section should start from both sides.
