Abstract
The electrical characteristics of a power system connected with a high-capacity offshore wind farm (OWF) can be significantly varied under various wind-speed conditions. This paper demonstrates voltage variations at the point of common coupling (PCC) when a high-capacity OWF is connected to different buses of the neighboring onshore substation of Taiwan Power System (TPS) through three or two submarine cables and underground cables, respectively. The voltage-variation results at PCC under different lengths of submarine cable and various capacities of the studied OWF are accomplished and compared.
