Abstract

The article is focused on improving software/hardware tools for human-machine interaction used in cyber- physical systems be means of visualization mechanisms based on Chernoff faces. The analysis determines abilities to identify the current situation, respond and make decisions by the system operator when abnormal and incorrect events and conditions occur. Various most interesting examples of the use of Chernoff faces as means of visualizing multidimensional data in several practical fields are analyzed, including for detecting fake banknotes, analyzing the effectiveness of research activities, and studying socio-economic indicators of the population. The main conclusions about the applicability of the data visualization method based on Chernoff faces are formulated.
