Abstract
Urban transportation not only greatly influences travel of urban residents, economic activities and normal operation of the city, but also affects the quality of urban environment. The essay analyzes the relationship between urban transportation and urban environment, and points out that the basic method to solve the problem between them is to develop an effective urban mass transit system. Furthermore, preferentially developing urban public transportation and constructing the system of urban environmental transportation by using its mass transit as the main part are the essential choices to realize its sustainable development.
