Abstract
AbstractThe hotel industry is one of the four pillars of tourism and its competitiveness has a strong influence on the development of tourism. This paper selects data in the 2017 China Tourism Statistics Yearbook about 31 provincial-level regions in mainland China, with principal component analysis and cluster analysis used to focus on the scale of business and business benefits. In addition, this paper empirically analyzes the differences in the competitiveness of the Star-rated Hotel Industry in China. The results show that Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong are highly competitive; Zhejiang and Jiangsu are relatively competitive; Shandong, Hunan, Fujian, and Hainan are not so competitive; Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Anhui, He’nan, Hebei, Tianjin, Gansu, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Hubei, Liaoning, Xinjiang, Guizhou, Jilin, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Tibet, Qinghai are less competitive.
