Abstract

Objective To investigate the visk factors of curative surgery for gastric cancer. Methods Ninety-two patients who underwent curative surgery for gastric cancer from January 1998 to March 2008 were re-spectively analysed for the risk factors of hospital death and postoperative complications. Results The risk factors included ages grater than 65 years,albumin lower than 35 g/L,hemoglobin lower than 80 g/L,ascites more than 300 ml, accompanied with other diseases, combined resection of spleen or pancreas and total gastrectomy. Conclu-sion These risk factors should be consideres carefully when we plan a surgery;controlling these factors properly may reduce the postoperative complications and hospital death rate after curative surgery for gastric cancer.
