Abstract
In this work, single-phase BaZr0.05Ti0.95O3 (BZT) ceramic was prepared through a conventional solid-state reaction route. The structural identity was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Rietveld refinement, which reveals the single-phase perovskite structure of the synthesized sample having an orthorhombic structure and space group Amm2. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) study gives an idea about the well-dense grains with clear grain boundaries of the BZT sample. Frequency and amplitude-dependent Polarization-Electric field (P-E) and Strain-Electric field (S-E) loops were studied. The parameters like remnant polarization (Ec), coercive field (Pr), loop area (<A>), energy storage efficiency (η), field-induced maximum strain (Smax) and inverse piezoelectric coefficient (d33*) were calculated. The scaling behavior of the hysteresis loops area as a function of frequency and field strength is studied. The thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity as a function of temperature were investigated.
