Abstract
The survey research entitled "Analysis of Thinking Levels and Interest in Learning on the Ability of Understanding the Concept of Trigonometry Subjects" was motivated by the importance of the ability to understand basic concepts in mathematics learning, and the difficulties of mathematics education study students in learning trigonometry because they came from vocational high schools ( SMK). The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of the level of thinking and interest in learning together on the ability to understand the basic concepts of trigonometric courses, the influence of the level of thinking on the ability to understand the basic concepts of trigonometry courses, and the influence of learning interest on the ability to understand basic concepts . The number of samples in this study were 44 people drawn from the student population who took trigonometry courses. Processing data from samples taken using a random sampling technique based on Roscoe's formula, was carried out using the SPSS 20-multiple regression program. The results of data processing show that the resulting multiple regression equation is Y = 8.595 + 2.129 X1 - 0.069 X2. The conclusion of this study is the level of thinking and interest in learning together have a significant effect on the ability to understand the basic concepts of trigonometry courses, the level of thinking has a significant influence on the ability to understand basic concepts of trigonometry subjects, while learning interest does not have a significant effect on ability understanding the basic concepts of trigonometry courses.
