Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between specialization background at school and mastery of Basik MI/SD students in classes A1, A2 and B for the 2021/2022 academic year. The method used in this study is to use a survey method with a quantitative approach through comparative analysis. The sample for this study were students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teacher education, FTKIP UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. In the odd semester of the 2021/2022 school year the research was conducted in October-December 2022. The sampling technique is a nonprobability sampling technique, namely incidental sampling. Data collection techniques used the following methods: (1) MI/SD Science Concept Mastery Test, Concept Understanding Pretest (2) Interview to find out specialization in SMA, (3) Observation to record what was observed in this study. Data analysis was performed with SPSS 16 software using Independent-Sample T Tsts. Conclusion: there is a relationship between school background specialization and mastery of basic science concepts in Islamic elementary school teacher education students at the FTKIP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta classes A1, A2 and B in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
