Abstract
The purpose of this research was to describe the use of Indonesian idiom based on its shape, types, and source of Ranah 3 Warna novel by A. Fuadi The research method was qualititative research. The whole use of idioms which were found in Ranah 3 Warna Novel by A. Fuadi were 158 idioms. The use of idioms based on sources consists of idioms with names of body parts, idioms with names of natural objects, idioms with names of animals, idioms with names of plant parts, idioms with numerals, and idioms with color names. In learning Bahasa, this research was related to learning material. Ranah 3 Warna novel by A. Fuadi could be used as teaching material so that students understand the use of idioms in discourse better.
