Abstract

This research aims to determine the trend of waqf development analysis published in Scopus indexed journals. Data was obtained from Scopus on September 14, 2023, with bibliometric analysis and SLR using VOSViewer software and Ms. Excel as an analysis tool. The results show that the research trend related to waqf development has increased since 1952 with a total of 71 documents. Document types are divided into 40 journal articles (56%), 16 Book Chapters (22%), 9 Conference Papers (13%), 4 Reviews (6%) and 2 books (3%). All documents were written in English (68), Arabic (2) and Turkish (1). The most productive journals publishing articles in the field of waqf development are Revitalization of Waqf for Socio-Economic Development, Volume I (8) Intellectual Discourse UIAM Journal (3) and Isra International Journal Of Islamic Finance (3). While the most productive author is Mahamood, S.M. (6), the most productive country is Malaysia (46) followed by Indonesia (12) and the most productive institutions are UIAM (16) and UiTM (16). The article that received the highest citation and became a source of inspiration in waqf development research was written by Abdullah M. (54) from Markfield, United Kingdom. Based on the analysis of keywords and abstracts in waqf development research, it can be concluded that the role of institutions that manage waqf property in Malaysia receives the attention of researchers from the aspects of real estate development, human resource development through education, as well as cash waqf development.
