Abstract

Abstract A linear programming model is developed for the centralised co-ordination of supply chains over many plants and inventory points. Production and supply lead-times are included in the model so that the upstream impact of downstream demand variation can be evaluated and appropriate action taken in time. A simple computational example illustrates well the potential of the model.
