Abstract
An eight-telescope system for measuring the energy and angular distribution of protons from the (n, p) reactions in the energy range 2.5–20 MeV is described. The proportional counters are used as d E/d X counters and Si(Li) detectors as E counters. Triple coincidences and two-dimensional analysis have been used. The construction of “multiwire” proportional counters is described. Time distributions between pulses from different counters and coincidence efficiency problem have been investigated. The system is tested using 19 MeV neutrons.
