Abstract

The energy and angular distributions of protons from the reactions Cu 63,65 (n, p) and Cu 63 (n, np) at 14 MeV have been determined. The energy distributions in the forward direction exhibit peaks spaced many times the known level spacing of the residual nuclei. The angular distributions are symmetrical about 90° only for protons in the energy interval 2–3 MeV; the angular distributions for other energy intervals show a forward asymmetry which increases progressively with proton energy.
