Abstract

The relationship between the entrepreneurial team and performance has been a focus of intensive study over the past years. However, it is still inconclusive if entrepreneurial team promotes or inhibits entrepreneurial performance. In this study, we used 421 samples from 20 entrepreneurial teams to build a mediated moderation model from the conflict management perspective. We used this model to test the role of team diversity and team environment in modulating the relationship between the entrepreneurial team and performance. The results showed that conflict management plays an important role in modulating the relationship between the entrepreneurial team and performance, and the effect of the mediation is significant. In addition, team heterogeneity and team environment have a significant impact on the relationship between the entrepreneurial team and performance. Importantly, this modulatory effect is mediated through conflict management. Specifically, the relationship between the entrepreneurial team and performance is positively regulated by task-related diversity.
