Abstract

Objective This paper aims to analyze the employment status of the medical graduates,find out some existing problems and its influencing factors to guide the future employment.Methods SPSS 10.0 statistical software is adopted to analyze the data collected by a self-designed questionnaire,which investigated 343 graduates for 6 months in 2007.Results The employment rate has achieved 97.1%.52.6% of them work in institutions,7.5% in state-owned enterprises,33.4% in private enterprises,and 6.5% no work; The ratio of all graduates engaged in medical technical works is 68.5%.The relevant ratio is 58.8% for graduates of clinical medicine.60.0% find job by the introduction of their friends and relatives,23.2% by themselves,and 16.8% through the information provided by school; 90.3% do not change their job,while 9.7% change their job in 3 months.Conclusions Medical schools play an inconsequential role in settling the employment status of graduates.The ratio of clinical graduates engaged in medical professional field is low.So more measures should be adopted to impel medical schools to improve the guidance in the employment of graduates.
