Abstract

This study was conducted to look at the practice of learning to write al-Quran as well as the factors that influence the practice. A total of 176 secondary school students of the Kurikulum Bersepadu Tahfiz (KBT) throughout Malaysia were selected randomly as sample. This survey study uses a quantitative approach. A set of questionnaires has been formulated considering the practice of learning al-Quran writing and the factors of basic knowledge of al-Quran writing, training and guidance factors, time allocation and management factors and test and exam question factors. The data obtained was then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings of the study showed that the learning practice of al-Quran writing was at a moderate level which is (mean: 3.68, s.p: 0.54) The findings also show that only the knowledge factor shows a high score which is (mean: 4.26, s.p: 0.59) The correlation analysis also shows that all four the factors studied have a significant relationship with the learning practice of al-Quran writing. Based on the results, it can be concluded that an aggressive step should be organized to improve the practice of learning the al-Quran writing because Rasulullah SAW placed great emphasis on the Al-Quran.
