Abstract

Abstract The objectives in the use of topical agents in burn therapy are bacterial control and relief of pain. In this study a commonly discussed ‘home remedy’ now commercially available is compared with a widely used prescription agent in the control of bacterial flora in outpatient burn wounds. Additionally, the study examines healing times in the two groups for any demonstrated effect.
