Abstract
This study includes a case report of a client with alcohol addiction. The client is a 34-year-old male and an agricultural engineer. With the deterioration of the client's health, it was decided that it would be beneficial for him to see a psychologist upon the advice of his diabetes doctor, and it is known that the client consulted a psychologist after this decision. The client was determined to be alcohol addicted by his psychologist based on the DSM-V diagnostic criteria. With the decision made by the client and his therapist, it was determined that the client was suitable for the cognitive behavioral therapy school. The CBT school was applied during the client's treatment process. By focusing on cognitive processes, it was aimed to purify the client from automatic negative thoughts, to determine and question the client's basic beliefs, and thus, a cognitive restructuring was achieved in the client. In addition to the CBT school, techniques such as the ABC model, the TAT Test, and the Evidence Counter-Evidence Technique were applied.
