Abstract
Este artigo abarca uma investigação bibliográfica que analisa a emergência de uma subárea no campo da pesquisa em música que envolve teorias de gênero e perspectivas feministas para a análise dos fenômenos musicais. Apresenta uma definição do conceito de gênero baseado em Joan Scott (2019) e Judith Butler (2019), e tem por objetivo apresentar possíveis contribuições do gênero como conceito e categoria de análise para a escrita da história da música no Brasil. As conclusões apontam para transformações na historiografia musical e nos currículos das disciplinas de História da Música das universidades brasileiras.
