Abstract
The reliability of the communication network is one of its main technical characteristics. The definition of this characteristic provides for the solution of a cascade of subtasks, the choice of which depends on the operating conditions of the network, the possible requirements for the estimation error, and the available computational and time resources. Since obtaining an accurate estimate of it is NP a difficult task, and modern communication networks are becoming more ramified and large-scale, this stimulates the improvement of methods for its calculation. This article contains various algorithms for determining the reliability of a communication network with a description of the conditions for their effective use. In particular, it is considered which algorithms will be most expedient to use for channel and packet switching. In addition, in the development of the developed method for assessing reliability taking into account dependent paths, an adaptation of the method is proposed taking into account various indicators of reliability of communication network elements.
