Abstract

Present study emphasis environmental concern of agro-waste materials and approaches for their sustainable utilization in wastewater treatment for environmental safety and waste management. This paper also addresses the environmental issues by identifying various categories of food waste, its consumption, amount of waste generated, and methods to reuse them properly. Discharge of Agro waste from agricultural and food processing industries leads to a problem of solid waste disposal and related environmental issues for this a lot of research has been conducted to use adsorbents as a treatment method for organic and inorganic pollutants. Utilizing agro-waste and bio-based material as adsorbents for removing contaminants from wastewater may be a sustainable option for environmental management and safety. Therefore, this paper highlights the performance of adsorbents based on agro-based materials (such as banana, citrus, apple, grape, and mango), vegetable waste (such as potato, tomato, etc.) for effective wastewater treatment, anddeveloping sustainable technology for environmental and health safety.
