Abstract

In the modern world, road transport holds a special place in the development of a country's economy. The primary goal of the transport system is to effectively and promptly satisfy the needs of the national economy and population in cargo transportation. Overland transportation via roads offers numerous advantages, including lower capital requirements, door-to-door service, accessibility to remote areas, flexibility, suitability for short distances, and speedy shipment. This is why transportation volumes conducted through this mode occupy a leading position among the population. Aside from the advantages, it is important to acknowledge the disadvantages that can pose challenges for companies engaged in the field of road transport. These challenges encompass increased fuel costs, compliance with established national and international regulations, failures in road infrastructure, traffic congestion, driver shortages etc. Hence, it is crucial for operations in this field to anticipate the potential threats the company may encounter in the future.
